Here we come Holidays...

Ok, so it has been awhile since I have posted to this blog- understatement of the year!  To be honest, it has not been a priority- obvious, right?!  I would like to announce, however, that since my last post in Feb of 2009, we have added another beautiful baby to our family and she is actually going to be 2 years old in February!  Holy cow how time flies!  We are so blessed to share our lives with these two little ones each day.

These days I am staying home and being a Mom which I love and cherish.  Today, the munchkins and I did a craft inspired by Thanksgiving.  We painted newspaper with fall inspired paints and let it dry, then I outlined each of thier hands and used it as a stencil to cut multiple handprints out of the folded paper.  I was able to get more out of Ads little hand than C but out of 2 halves of newspaper (one painted by each kid) we got a total of 22 handprints!  I had a pile of cardboard tubes hanging around that I had meant to craft for Halloween but never managed to get to them so I painted all of them brown.  We took a few handprints and stapled them to the tubes (the kids helped here).  Next we added googlie eyes (I am a sucker for these) and I painted on beaks and feet and there you have it, instant turkey fun.

They were not following the project during the process, but in the end they were VERY happy with their turkeys.  Mom and Dad even got in on the act and I made a turkey with our handprints on extra paper and another turkey that had the kids and dated it.  I intend to keep this set, but the other 4 are heading off to family members all across the country, so I guess these are migrating turkey.

We sure had fun and hope if you try it that you have a blessed crafty day too!
